Basic metal industry foreign sales prices in Turkey increased by 1.3% monthly in October

According to the statistics published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the general foreign producer prices index (YD-PPI)* increased by 1.35% in October this year compared to the previous month and by 57.25% compared to the same month last year. YD-PPI in the country increased by 51% compared to the twelve-month average.

In the month in question, the foreign producer price index for the local basic metal industry increased by 1.3% monthly and 40.1% annually. Moreover, the foreign producer price index in the basic metal industry increased by an average of 37.3% within a 12-month period.

On the other hand, in the same month, the foreign producer price index for the metal goods sector, excluding machinery and equipment, increased by 2.4% compared to the previous month and increased by 58.6% compared to October last year. The average increase in foreign producer prices in the sector in question in the 12-month period was recorded as 57.8%.

*Foreign price producers index (YD-PPI) reflects the price changes of the products that Turkish producers sell abroad.
